Before you explode with excitement and launch your quest for unlimited free silver riches from the bank, it's important for you to consider a few things and ask yourself some important questions:
  1. Why are you interested in Coin Roll Hunting?
  2. What are your expectations? What do you expect to find?
  3. Can you get rich and actually make money Coin Roll Hunting? Truth vs. Myth
1) Why are you interested in Coin Roll Hunting?
People get excited about coin roll hunting for a variety of reasons...some are enticed by finding free silver, some are attracted to the hobby in hopes of finding ancient relics or valuable coins, some just want to get started collecting, and other just want a fun way to pass the time. Whatever your reason for coin roll hunting, it is important that YOU know WHY you are doing it, and be prepared to manage your own expectations.
2) What are your Coin Roll Hunting Expectations? What you expect to find?
Often, people jump right into coin roll hunting expecting to strike it rich or hit the motherlode of valuable/collectible coins, then they frequently give up when after the first few rolls (and even full boxes!) they don't find anything at all. Patience and perseverance is the name of the game when it comes to coin roll hunting. Whether you're searching for silver, or special old dated or rare coins - don't give up, but don't expect too much either! Valuable and rare coins are very few and far between, and you really have to put in the time and go the numbers if you want to find them. The US Mint has minted millions and millions of each type of coin virtually every year of the modern era - most of the rare and silver coins have been taken out of circulation so be prepared to HUNT for them! It can be done, and it can be a LOT of fun when you find something unique! Will you find loads of treasures? Probably not. Will you find cool and unique coins worth collecting? Yes! But only if you don't give up!
3) Can you get rich coin roll hunting?
Some people are drawn to the idea of hunting coin rolls for getting rich. Let's put it this way. The chance of getting rich coin roll hunting is probably about as good as winning the lottery. Can it be done? Possibly. Will it be you? Probably not 🙂 The truth of the matter is - at least in our own experience (searching through over $50,000 in coins as of the time of this post) if you are coin roll hunting to make money, you would make a lot more money getting a part time job that pays minimum wage 🙂 Sure, you may find $50 worth of free silver in 2 or 3 boxes of half dollars, but it will take you countless hours to get the coins to search, to actually go through them, then prepare the 'duds' to be returned back to your bank (Most banks won't count them for you - just a heads up!). If you're in it for the money you should really consider what your time is worth...BUT, if you're in it for the thrill of the hunt, and for the excitement that comes from finding 1 war nickel in a box of 2,000 nickels, or a handful of wheat pennies in a box of pennies, or a 90% silver half dollar in 2 or 3 boxes of halves...then it is absolutely worth it.
So, is it worth it? It could be, only you can decide. Is it fun? We think so. We love coin roll hunting - not because we want to strike it rich, but because we love the challenge and the thrill of the hunt!
